Oral Surgery

At Surdel Dental Centre, we offer our Delta and Surrey patients a variety of oral surgery procedures to help improve the overall health and appearance of their smiles.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are replacements for one or more missing teeth. Dental implant are titanium posts capped with dental crowns that look, feel and act just like natural teeth do.

Dental implants can also be placed to anchor a denture and ensure that it doesn't move and/or cause discomfort.

While a bridge may have to be replaced 2-3 times in one's lifetime, with good care dental implants typically last for life,  thus saving you money (and significant hassle!) in the long run.

Extractions

Tooth extractions become necessary for a number of reasons. For instance, teeth that are extensively decayed or fractured teeth that do not allow for restoration may need to be extracted. We may also remove teeth to prevent crowding; a good example of this is the removal of wisdom teeth when there isn’t enough room in the jaw of them to grow in properly.

Gum Surgery

Gum surgery is required when a patient has advanced gum disease, when the gum tissue has over grown a tooth, or when a patient has a "gummy" smile. The procedure differs in each situation, but with the help of a dental laser, the procedure is relatively quick and quick and typically painless.

Additional Oral Surgery Options:

  • Exposure of un-erupted or impacted teeth for orthodontics
  • Removal of cysts, tumors and abscesses
  • Diagnostic biopsies
  • Periodontal plastic surgery
  • Removal of excess soft tissue including frenectomies
  • Bone grafting
  • Soft tissue grafting
  • Surgical crown lengthening
  • Endodontic surgery (root canals)

At Surdel Dental Centre, we provide sedation options for patients who are undergoing more complex procedures, or who feel anxious about visiting the dentist. View Our Sedation Options »
