For many patients, Invisalign clear aligners can help correct bite issues and straighten teeth, without the need for brackets or wires. Today, our Delta and Surrey dentists describe how the Invisalign treatment process works from start to finish.
Ready for a straighter smile?
If you're ready to straighten your teeth or resolve a bite problem, but do not want the appearance of traditional braces, Invisalign may be the idea orthodontic treatment for you.
Here's how the Invisalign treatment process works:
1. Book Your Invisalign Consultation
The first step on your journey should be to see your Delta and Surrey dentists for an Invisalign consultation.
During this consultation your dentist will thoroughly examine your teeth and bite to determine whether treatment with Invisalign may be right for you.
If you're a good match for Invisalign, your dentist will take a series of detailed scans using our 3D intraoral scanning technology, which allows you to see a preview of what your smile could look like once your treatment is complete.
2. Review Your Custom Treatment Plan
Your dentist will develop a custom treatment plan just for you, based on your smile goals and the results of your detailed 3D scans. This personalized treatment plan will specify the details and steps of your Invisalign treatment. You'll also gain insights into timelines and what to expect from your Invisalign treatment.
3. Your Custom-Made Clear Aligners Are Ready
Each of your new clear aligners in the series will be constructed specifically to fit your smile and facilitate the precise movement of your teeth. By switching to the next set of aligners in your series every two weeks (or as recommended by your dentist), your teeth will gently and gradually shift into their corrected positions during the course of your treatment period.
All Invisalign aligners are made from a clear flexible plastic called SmartTrack® and do not contain any BPA, BPS or gluten.
4. Invisalign Treatment Begins
Your first series of aligners will arrive at your dentist's office and you'll be contacted to come pick them up so you can begin treatment. While you're at the dental clinic picking up your aligners, your dentist will make sure the aligners fit correctly, show you how to wear them properly, review your treatment plan with you, and answer any questions you may have.
After that, you'll only need to visit your dentist every 6 to 8 weeks so that your dentist can check your progress and make adjustments to your treatment as needed.
5. Nothing Can Stop You Now
You will be able to live your life without interruptions while straightening your teeth and correcting bite issues specified in your treatment plan since your clear aligners are so convenient and discreet.
Your custom aligners from Invisalign will be almost completely invisible while you're wearing them. This means the casual observer will be hard-pressed to notice that your teeth are being straightened. And because your Invisalign aligners are removable, it's not necessary to avoid any of the foods you love while straightening your teeth.
